Zoom Services

We will be meeting virtually on Sundays at 10.30 while the church is in lockdown. If you would like to join us then email Fr William on vicar@saintthomasclapton.org. You will be most welcome.

Here is a item on the Easter Day C4 news about our Easter Day service

COVID 19

The Church continues to be alive and active but in London our buildings must close. London is seeing a huge increase in the numbers of people falling sick with COVID-19. We must physically distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives. Therefore, as well as public worship being suspended, this and all church buildings in the Diocese of London, are now closed. Our worship of God and our care for one another continue but cannot be done in this building. Please contact Fr William Taylor by telephone or email in emergency. Details to follow about on-line resources for prayer, worship, study and community life.   23 March 2020

St Thomas’ Church

St Thomas’ Church is at the corner of Clapton Common and Oldhill Street. The entrance is in Oldhill Street. The main service is every Sunday starting at 10:30.

It is an Anglican parish church, part of the Church of England, but you do not need to belong to the Church of England to attend. Everyone is welcome, and members of any Christian church are welcome to receive communion with us.

We are very glad to have families bring babies and children. There is a toy corner in the Lady Chapel where noise doesn’t matter (and you can still hear the service). Children from about age four upwards may like to join junior church activities.

We are on the frequent 253/254 bus route which connects with Manor House and Bethnal Green tube stations.

Safeguarding

We take seriously our duty to have due regard to the House of Bishop’s Guidance on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. A list of important telephone numbers for children and adults at risk is here and is also displayed on church premises
